 Kat’s Studio at Willow Run Farms, LLC, is a dream realized.  Located on the family farm, overlooking fields and forest, the Studio now has even more room for clients and artwork.  I do not have to stray far from my door to find rich subject matter for my work. We are all looking forward to a busy and productive year ahead for Kat’s Studio and Willow Run Farms, LLC.

I am often asked when I became interested in painting. I cannot remember ever NOT being interested. I work in acrylic on canvas using layering and glazes to develop a distinct character to each work. I like to include a sense of sound in my painting, as well as movement - the sound of a cow chewing or a horse shifting a foot. I paint to capture the grace of historic buildings, an old barn, the farm cat or farm landscape.  These are the things I know, the rapidly vanishing history around me, the farm I grew up on, the smell of hay, rain and earth.

Because art has been a gift to me I want people to look into my paintings rather than look at them...to sense the enthusiasm and humor. I believe that art should leave the viewer refreshed and renewed. If my work evokes a smile, then I have succeeded as an artist.
